This year has been a rollercoaster for transportation, agriculture, fueling, and auto industry pros. We managed through the pandemic, supply chain shortages, dock strikes, and natural disasters here in California, and we kept our heads above it all. The country depends upon us to deliver, whether you are in the business to provide fuel and lubrication products, whether you transport needed goods for timely delivery, or are on a job site that requires deadlines to be met.

To continue rolling into the New Year, are you up-to-date on the CARB extensions? Are you prepared to deal with fluctuating fuel prices? Do you have a maintenance plan in place to avoid unexpected breakdowns?

As the parent company of Advanced Emission Control Solutions, Inc., our fuel distribution experts teamed up with their in-house CARB consultants to provide the following advice to keep your entire fleet trouble-free and on the road in 2022:

1. Avoid the ups and downs of fuel prices with RV Jensen’s bobtail fuel service.

We deliver as much as 5,000 gallons at a time to your job site, and you fuel up right there, pumping directly from our gas tank into yours. You’re buying at wholesale prices to avoid paying astronomical retail fuel prices. And you’ll get to take advantage of our KFB (Keep Full Basis) plan, with our in-house fuel consultant as your partner to help determine the best times to schedule delivery according to current pricing and your usage history.

2. Avoid breakdowns with regularly scheduled maintenance.

Remembering maintenance milestones required by OEMs is a headache. Your Advanced Emission consultants will ensure that you’re on the schedule for recommended maintenance required by OEMS: every 40,000 miles for valve clearance adjustments, every 80,000 miles for EGR cooler cleaning, and every 150,000 miles for DPF cleaning. When you schedule regular pit stops at AECS instead of leaving your vehicles at “specialists” or dealerships, you’ll save a truckload of money, because AECS prefers to repair rather than replace DPFs and other parts. Emissions consultants Bob Gaffney and Stephen Davis help you sort out the CARB emission requirements for trucks and buses, including Class 8 trucks, and off-road vehicles.

3. Avoid replacing trucks when all you need is a retrofit.

You may qualify for Ag Extension Status, allowing you to take advantage of a cost-saving allowance for retrofits until January 1st of 2023! Why replace your truck to the tune of as much as $200,000 when you could retrofit at a tiny fraction of that amount? Don’t wait until the end of 2022 to begin the process, because retrofits can take up to three months to complete. When you operate in one of the Central Coast, Northern, or Southern California counties, you may qualify to reap the rewards of no end date and unlimited mileage as long as you maintain your DPF. Advanced Emission will even bring their mobile DPF service to wherever you’re parked to determine whether your DPF just needs a good cleaning, or whether a retrofit is in order.
