New to the Clean Truck Check requirements? It’s time to get on board and ensure your agricultural vehicle is compliant with the newest CARB rules. The clock is ticking on completing vehicle testing and reporting. From now (October 2024) through December of this year, pay your 2024 compliance fee or else suffer the consequences of monetary fines and DMV registration holds.
Does Your Ag Vehicle Need to Conform to the Clean Truck Check Regulations?
The answer is a resounding “Yes!” when your ag trucks or equipment meet these criteria:
- Your Heavy-Duty Vehicle is a truck or truck/trailer combo is exclusively used in ag operations or used to transport ag products to the first point of processing. This equipment is not used for personal use.
- The vehicle is operated on California State public highways or roads and has a manufacturer’s weight of over 14,000 pounds GVWR.
How to be Compliant with the CARB Clean Truck Check Regulation:
- Report the results of your Clean California Clean Truck Check to the Vehicle Inspection System (CTC-VIS)
- Pay the annual 2024 compliance fees by your vehicle’s compliance deadline, displayed in the CTC-VIS. Deadlines for California registered vehicles determined by expiration dates for DMV registrations.
- For out-of-State ag vehicles operating in California, the deadline is based on the last number of the vehicle’s VIN number. Compliance deadlines are also found in the CTC-VIS
- No outstanding law enforcement violations are on the books
- Starting October 1, 2024, submit your Clean Truck Check emissions tests up to 90 days before your vehicle’s 2025 compliance deadline.
